Information we collect

Consequences of non-provision of information

Personal/Contact information:

- To contact you regarding the status of the services, functionality changes to our products, services and site.
- To notify you of service interruptions or important updates, such as maintenance and changes made to this policy.
- Where you have opted in to receive such information - other / new services, special offers/newsletters, or promotions, such as sending you a t-shirt.

Holding your information
We tend to hold information collected for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, such as for legal, tax and accounting requirements as needed. Any personal information you provide to MyHost will be collected and held at MyHost’s official place of business in New Zealand and data centre. We store this information in a secure manner and ensure that it is not used for further processing, such as communication or marketing. We keep internal access to these tools limited to certain members of the team, and all team members have appropriate training around your security and privacy.

Your rights

Deletion of your data will be carried out on the understanding that removal of some information (e.g. email address) during an active membership may negatively affect your ability to use MyHost services. We cannot delete any invoices, as these are kept for tax purposes.

We will respond to all requests within 30 days, but usually much faster.
We will consider all the requests, however, certain personal information may be excluded from the requests above, as we would need to keep processing that information for our legitimate interests or to comply with a legal obligation. If such an exception applies, we will notify you when responding to your request stating why a certain exception applies. Please note that we may ask you to provide us with information necessary to confirm your identity before responding.
Disclosure of Information to third parties
MyHost may disclose to third parties:
- tracking information and other information that does not personally identify you;
- your personal information, where MyHost believes in good faith that MyHost is required to do so by law; and
- your personal information provided to MyHost, where MyHost has your prior authorisation, which will usually be obtained at the time of collecting the information from you.
Content Providers, Advertisers and Partners
MyHost does not control the practices of content providers, partners and advertisers connected with the site and to whom you provide personal information whilst using one of their sites or services. The site contains links to other sites, which may not follow the same privacy policies as MyHost. MyHost recommends that you check any relevant privacy policies before providing your personal information to any third party.
Advertising MyHost to You
We use Google Ads’ remarketing feature, which might advertise MyHost to you after you have visited our website.
- This remarketing includes the use of Google Advertising Cookies.
- You can see and adjust your ad settings at g.co/adsettings (which is controlled by Google, not us).
- Our remarketing campaign targets ads based only on the MyHost webpages that you have visited.
- No demographic information, billing information or personal information is involved in our remarketing.
- Ads served by Google can appear on websites across the Internet. We do not track which sites you visit outside of myhost.nz and my-host.au, nor do we select which sites our ads appear on.
Unmanaged Service
You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance and maintaining the security of virtual private server ("VPS") environments maintained under your account(s). This means that you must comply with all applicable guidelines and regulations for all jurisdictions in which you may operate in. MyHost shall not be held liable for your failure to adopt and/or practice appropriate measures for safeguarding personal information stored within or transmitted through your MyHost VPS.
Children
Our services are not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and children under 18 are prohibited from using our services. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please inform us immediately so we can delete such information from our files.
Security
As no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit or receive through the Site. Any transmission is conducted at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will take appropriate measures to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft and unauthorised use.
Our Promises
