MyHost now registering international domains
Our new ICANN accreditation cut outs extra steps for registering .com and .org domains.
This article is from 2024. Since then we’ve also received auDA accreditation to register .au domains.
We’re delighted to share that MyHost is now ICANN accredited. This means we're now directly registering .com and .org domains with the registry.
The domains supply chain is surprisingly complicated. In short, this new ICANN accreditation cut outs a lot of resellers, middlemen, and other extra steps.
While it’s true that resellers take on some compliance and technical responsibilities on behalf of retailers like us, they’re also powerful price-setters. Our years of experience as accredited registrars of other domains like .au (which is overseen by auDA, an Australian version of ICANN) gave us plenty of confidence to handle these responsibilities ourselves.
What’s changed with .com and .org domains?
Starting 12 March 2024, any .com or .org domains that are added to your MyHost account will be registered with us, rather than with a reseller. We are the registrar, and have a direct relationship to the registry. This specifically applies to:
- Any new .com or .org domains that you register, and
- Any .com or .org domains that you transfer to us.
Basically, any new .com or .org domains registered on MyHost will have us as your registrar.
From your point of view, if you already had .com or .org domains with us, nothing will have changed.
Your domains still appear in your MyHost account with the same contact information, DNS and nameserver settings. No change to renewal dates or prices, no downtime either.
What’s not changing (yet)
These changes are primarily affecting domain registrations going forward. Our reseller relationships will continue, and there are no changes with:
- Other ICANN-governed TLD, like .net
- Any domains registered with us before 12 March 2024.
Regular renewals will not lead to a change of registrar.
My name is…?
When you register a domain with us and check the WHOIS lookups you’ll see us listed as Webslice.
When we work with ICANN, we do it under the name Webslice International, which is likely an unfamiliar name to you. It’s simply our international brand, so you can rest assured that it’s us (or more precisely, it’s one of our sister companies).
TLDR: If you’re seeing Webslice International as your registrar, that indicates all is working as intended. You’re good to go!
The MyHost Domains page is the best place to go for more about registering and transferring domains.
The most popular top level domains
Approximately half of all websites globally use .com domains. If you want your website to have universal appeal, .com and .org are the most popular options. They have the reverse impact of country-specific TLDs like .nz and .au, which make websites seem more trustworthy to local audiences.
If you’re looking for a new international domain, whether it’s .com, .org or anything else, there’s never been a better time to register one with us.

Moving multiple domains from Freeparking to MyHost. They have been very helpful and rapid in answering all questions. I like the portal better than Freeparking. MyHost offer more than Freeparking for less money. ★★★★★
These guys are amazing. I've signed up for their web hosting service. I moved from Bluehost and the move has been incredibly smooth. The service is so much faster than what I had. And the customer service is 5 star! Love you guys :) and thanks! It's the perfect service for someone who knows bugger all about hosting & domains.
Fantastic support. Good pricing ...and a control panel that just works without trying to up-sell and randomly include extra things I didn't ask for.
So impressed, I'm migrating domains from a number of other providers who struggle with one or more of the above.
